Ghana

Ghana

I never saw the first moments of 2011, suspended somewhere over the Atlantic, crossing timezones on the half hour. I spent three weeks in Ghana documenting the culture, the beginning of a school, and specifically the village of Kyekyewere. I learned a lot about the flaws of non profits, and the ethical pretenses of voluntourism. Still I fell in love with the people, the haze over the sun, and the landscape. I made cyanotypes in the hotel courtyard and bathtubs, with foliage the children collected, and many intrigued onlookers.
